Steinbeis Europa Zentrum (SEZ)

Steinbeis Europa Zentrum (SEZ) was founded in 1990 as the operational unit of the Commissioner for Europe of Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Economics. With offices in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe, its task is to help small and medium sized enterprises and research organisations to get involved in European research projects and to initiate transnational co-operations. It is a partner in the Enterprise Europe Network of the European Commission with close to 600 participating organisations in over 60 countries. The network provides information and advice on EU matters, innovation, research and technology transfer. It is also promoting the exploitation of European research results. SEZ is Contact Point for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Baden-Württemberg. At the same time it acts as EU-Contact Point for Universities in Baden-Württemberg.

Role in the project

Steinbeis Europa Zentrum is the responsible partner for WP9 - Exploitation, Dissemination & Communication. The objective of this work package is to develop and implement sound exploitation, dissemination and communication activities to complement, support and enhance the in-depth individual city replication and deployment activities.The main task will be:

  • Driver for the knowledge-transfer approach between the partners
  • Leader for the IPR management
  • Driver of exploitation activities towards business model development
  • Driver of dissemination and communication activities

Steinbeis Europa Zentrum will also contribute to WP1 “Project Management”, WP 7 “Monitoring and Evaluation” and WP 8 “Replication to Followers and Smart Cities Network”.
