EU Energy Day at COP25 - UN Climate Change Conference

On 10 December, the EU Energy Day at COP25 is taking place in Madrid, Spain. The Horizon 2020 Smart Cities and Communities Lighthouse project SmartEnCity will be represented by its Project Coordinator Francisco Rodríguez Pérez-Curiel from Tecnalia as part of the thematic session on "Accelerating Innovation for the European Green Deal”.

The Horizon 2020 Smart Cities and Communities Lighthouse project SmartEnCity will be represented by its Project Coordinator Francisco Rodríguez Pérez-Curiel from Tecnalia as part of the thematic session on "Accelerating Innovation for the European Green Deal”.

The EU Energy Day will be hosted at the EU Pavilion and will showcase the EU leadership role in transforming the European and the global economy towards carbon neutrality. International stakeholders will discuss opportunities and challenges linked to the energy system transformation and try to identify shared values and avenues for international cooperation activities.

A high-level opening will set the stage for the day, conveying the political message of the event. The programme includes four thematic sessions addressing the role of renewables, innovation, just transition and buildings in the energy transition and a closing session on Copernicus application to reduce methane emissions.
