Achievements of Follower City Lecce in the SmartEnCity framework
The main goal achieved by Lecce Municipality during SmartEnCity project is the development of both, the Integrated Energy Plan (IEP) and the City Action Plan (Roadmaps). The documents have been generated thanks to the joint work of a dedicated taskforce formed by several representatives of Public Works and Energy Policy Department of Lecce Municipality and RINA Consulting S.p.A., as Lecce main consultant during the project.

The Estonian Smart Cities Club met for the 8th time in Paide
On 22 April 2022, the Estonian SmartEnCity Network, or the Estonian Smart Cities Club, met for the 8th time in Paide, Estonia. After a long pandemic, the Club was able to meet again in person, for which the Central Estonian city of Paide was chosen.
Final SmartEnCity Italian Network event in Lecce
The final Italian SmartEnCity Network event has taken place in Lecce on 27 April in both formats - virtual and in-presence. The event with the title “The role of the Public Administrations in the energy transition process: Integrated Energy Planning, SECAP and Energy Communities”, was organised in collaboration with the Engineers’ and Architects’ associations of Lecce Province, with the patronage of the Apulia Region - Economic Development Department, opened up to the Cities of the SmartEnCity Italian Network and to all interested local stakeholders.

Lighthouse City Tartu was welcoming European experts and municipality representatives
On 9 March 2022, as part of the CEESEU project bootcamp, 40 European experts and municipality representatives visited SmartEnCity Lighthouse City Tartu. The participants came from Germany, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Austria to learn from Tartu's experience in developing its Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP).
Lighthouse City Vitoria-Gasteiz has started the Intelligent Electric Bus service
The Intelligent Electric Bus started operating on 1 March with hardly any incidents. The new sustainable mobility service of Vitoria-Gasteiz started up with a fleet of six 100% electric buses with cutting edge technology that will improve the times and efficiency of the TUVISA peripheral line. In this start-up phase, the BEI fleet will be completed with conventional buses.
