SmartEnCity shares experience with other European projects INTENSIFY and ATELIER.

22 Jul 2020

During the last weeks, SmartEnCity’s Lighthouse City Vitoria Gasteiz took part in several workshops from different European projects with the aim of sharing its experience and helping these projects to achieve their objectives by learning from SmartEnCity.

The INTENSIFY project is part of Interreg Europe programme which helps regional and local governments across Europe to develop and deliver better policy. INTENSIFY’s objective is to reduce carbon emissions from all sectors, by empowering and energising local communities.

During INTENSIFY’s workshop, Alberto Ortiz de Elgea, Vitoria Gasteiz’s work package leader, shared insights into community engagement, “one-stop shops” and selecting and aggregating properties to develop a deep energy efficiency retrofitting project.

On the other hand, ATELIER is an EU-funded Smart City project aiming to create and replicate Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) within two Lighthouse Cities and six Fellow Cities.

For his part, David Grisaleña, Technician from VISESA, participated in ATELIER’s first Innovation workshop, led by the Basque Energy Cluster. In the workshop representatives from Donostia-San Sebastián, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Pamplona, Sestao and Bilbao, five Basque Country Smart Cities, met via online video conference to share smart visions of their respective cities to a full audience, exchange knowledge, experiences and best practices in H2020 projects, all with the aim of fostering a joint understanding of the roll-out and take-off phases.

SmartEnCity keeps on spreading the word and learning from other projects!
