Meeting of the Danish national SmartEnCity Network Energibyerne

The Danish national SmartEnCity Network Energibyerne met again - virtually

05 Feb 2021

The Energibyerne (national SmartEnCity Network) met virtually in the beginning of November 2020 for two-day marathon discussion. The meeting was originally planned to be with physical participation, however, due to the then recent Covid-19 recommendations from the Danish government the meeting was held entirely virtually. Guest speakers from EASME, Covenant of Mayors and the Brussels’ Regional offices of Denmark were invited to talk about future and existing collaboration platforms, funding programs and opportunities.

They also discussed the Energibyerne collaboration and the various ideas and focus areas that the Energibyerne have.

Presentations from the meeting can be found here:

- EU support to cities and regions for the clean energy transition, EASME by Martin Eibl

- Covenant of Mayors Europe by Lucie Blondel

- Central Denmark Office, Rikke Edsjo

- Dacob by Cecilie Lindstrom

Following Energibyerne’s previous meeting in November 2020, a meeting in the beginning of December 2020 was held (virtually) to discuss the inputs provided by the special guest speakers, continue narrowing down ideas and sharpening concepts which the cities would like to work on this year and continue to shape their collaboration on the various hot topics they all have in common. The three focus topics are within PtX, Green Mobility and Citizen engagement. All participants shared their views on these topics including ambitions, barriers they see, funding opportunities and concepts, etc. The Energibyerne will continue their discussions in 2021 too starting with the first meeting of the year in February 2021.
