A successful year ended with several awards for Lighthouse City Vitoria-Gasteiz and SmartEnCity

On 13 December, EUSKALIT awarded Visesa with the Quality Innovation Award 2021, in the category of Public Bodies, for its role as Delegated Promoter in SmartEnCity deployment in Vitoria-Gasteiz. EUSKALIT is a non-profit foundation constituted in 1992 by a group of organisations to boost Advanced Management in Basque organisations.

This award allows Visesa to participate in the international phase of this Quality Innovation Award that will be held in Moscow in February 2022. Quality Innovation Award (QIA) is a competition created in 2007 by Excellence Finland to stimulate the emergence and development of product, process or organisational innovations. The organising committee is consisting of entities promoting Quality, Excellence and Innovation from numerous countries (20 in 2021), with Euskalit being one of them. In recent years, the international phase has had more than 400 participants from 20 countries all over the world.

As a mere anecdote, the Quality Innovation Award trophy consists of a beret which in the Basque Country stands for the typical recognition for champions. A beret is called “Txapela” in basque and a champion is called “Txapelduna” which means “the person who owns the beret” as a sign of recognition.

In addition, last November, AVS (Spanish Association of Public Managers of Housing and Land) awarded Visesa with a recognition for its role as Delegate Promoter in SmartEnCity deployment in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

And finally, SmartEnCity was present in ISViS2021 (1^st congress about Innovation and Sustainability in Social Housing) organised by AVRA (Retrofitting and Housing Agency of Andalucía) showing the results of SmartEnCity in Vitoria-Gasteiz demo district.
