Succesful ending of a successful project: SmartEnCity was celebrating its Final Conference
On 14 and 15 June, SmartEnCity project was celebrating its Final Conference at the EUROPA CONGRESS PALACE, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. More than 120 particpants attended the event over the two days and experienced interesting panels and speakers, discussing about results of SmartEnCity project and plans towards a carbon-free future.

Final SmartEnCity Newsletter released
End of July, SmartEnCity project is coming to an end. With the final newsletter, the main outcomes are introduced and our Lighthouse and Follower Cities as well as Network are giving summaries on their achievements in the frame of SmartEnCity.
Post-renovation survey among Tartu pilot area: what do the residents think?
In early 2022, the University of Tartu along with the Tartu engagement working group organized a post-renovation survey among pilot area residents. A similar survey was carried out before the renovation in 2018. The follow-up post-renovation survey was created to understand the impact of the SmartEnCity project on the pilot area and what has changed in the five years.

Monitoring results reveal large savings in Tartu pilot area
Over the course of the project, Tartu Regional Energy Agency has been monitoring the 17 renovated apartment buildings both in terms of energy consumption and performance.

Asenovgrad Municipality experience and learnings as a Follower City
After the successful implementation of SmartEnCity integrated energy planning (IEP) process, the Municipality of Asenovgrad directed its efforts towards spreading the knowledge and experience among other Bulgarian municipalities, members of the local SEC Network.

Achievements of Lighthouse City Vitoria-Gasteiz in the framework of SmartEnCity Project

The SmartEnCity Network is continuing to grow every day and now stands at 68 city members! The interest in our Network goes beyond any expectations, and we are so pleased to see so many ambitious cities joining us in the fight against climate change which are also on the path towards creating smart, sustainable, and resource-efficient urban environments in Europe.

Achievements of Follower City Lecce in the SmartEnCity framework
The main goal achieved by Lecce Municipality during SmartEnCity project is the development of both, the Integrated Energy Plan (IEP) and the City Action Plan (Roadmaps). The documents have been generated thanks to the joint work of a dedicated taskforce formed by several representatives of Public Works and Energy Policy Department of Lecce Municipality and RINA Consulting S.p.A., as Lecce main consultant during the project.
