Smart renovations in Tartu can go on! Financing has been secured for three more hrustsovka buildings06 Aug 2018
Tartu City Government has confirmed the investment in three further pilot area building associations that are participating in the SmartEnCity project. For the houses Pepleri 3, Turu 9 and Tähe 2, the necessary financing has been guaranteed. Up to now and including the 3 new houses, six pilot area buildings receive funding within the SmartEnCity project
Raimond Tamm, the local project coordinator and Deputy Mayor of Tartu said that, in addition to the six houses that have received financing so far, more than ten other pilot area buildings are nearly finished with their preparation works and are on track to receive financing in the next few months. “The first pilot area buildings will finish their renovations already this year in fall.” he added.
The Pepleri 3 building association will receive 139,618 EUR of renovation support, Turu 9 163,618 EUR and Tähe 2 is getting 181,193 EUR . All three buildings will also get 3000 € from the City to support the financing of the art works.(Read article on art works on Tartu’s Khrushchev-era buildings)
The City Government has decreed that the city will support the renovation of each pilot area building with 102 € per m2 of their overall indoor net area. So far, the building associations of Kalevi 10, Pepleri 10 and Lutsu 16 have received funding and already begun renovations.
Within SmartEnCity project, 4 million EUR have been reserved for the renovation of Khrushchev-era apartment buildings in Tartu. The deadline for the completion of the renovations is 30 June 2019.
