Lighthouse City Sonderborg visiting Stadtwerke Schleswig, Germany

Sonderborgs local project manager Iben Nielsen presented the SmartEnCity project and advocated for Schleswig to join the SmartEnCity Network to become the second German city in the network.

Mayor Dr. A Christiansen made the opening remarks and introduction to the evening's theme to the audience of approximately 50 politicians and political representatives in the City Hall in Schleswig, Germany. Sonderborgs local project manager Iben Nielsen then presented the SmartEnCity project and advocated for Schleswig to join the SmartEnCity Network to become the second German city in the network. The head of the local utilities company Mr. Wolfgang Schoofs described the energy saving measures already pursued in Schleswig and the representative of the political party Die Grünen, Dr. Babette Tewes rounded the evening off with last comments.

An informal agreement was reached that the two cities should send delegations to visit one another to further collaborate in the future and keep learning from each other.
