SmartEnCity at European Week of Regions and Cities 2020

The European Week of Regions and Cities is an three weeks event and showcases the capacity of cities and regions to create growth and jobs and to implement European Union cohesion policy and therefore proving the importance of local and regional level for good European governance. Meet SmartEnCity Lighthouse City Tartu on 21 October.

What:

Leaders of cities need new ways of thinking about how to design and plan sustainable cities and sustain urban growth in conjunction with local stakeholders. Well-informed governance and citizen engagement is essential to building more liveable and low-carbon cities. This workshop will present methods for effective engagement strategies that will highlight how smart technology and citizen engagement is being used across Europe to co-design green cities. A range of local authorities and a research institution will showcase innovative initiatives to implement green cities, using research, innovation, good governance and the power of engaging in better and deeper collaboration with local citizens. A sustainability challenge is also a social one.
