Lightouse City Vitoria-Gasteiz: The District Heating for Coronation neighbourhood has been finally awarded.

Lighthouse City Tartu: Smart home systems implemented but adjustments needed
SmartEnCity project in Lighthouse City Tartu is not only about converting old Soviet era apartment buildings into modern energy efficient dwellings – “from hrustsovka to smartovka!” – but also to make them smart in every sense of the word: each retrofitted apartment in the Tartu pilot area has been or will be equipped with a smart home system and various sensors which allow controlling the internal climate of the apartment as well as monitoring energy consumption.

Lighthouse City Tartu is celebrating Christmas with residents
On 4 December 2019, nearly 80 pilot area residents gathered in Tartu for another pilot area information event. As the holidays are just around the corner, participants were served (non-alcoholic) mulled wine and gingerbread in addition to pastries and snacks, to help everyone to get in the holiday spirit.
SmartEnCity at EU Energy Day at COP 25
On 10 December, the EU Energy Day at COP25 is taking place in Madrid, Spain. The Horizon 2020 Smart Cities and Communities Lighthouse project SmartEnCity will be represented by its Project Coordinator Francisco Rodríguez Pérez-Curiel from Tecnalia as part of the thematic session on "Accelerating Innovation for the European Green Deal”.

European projects SmartEnCity and BIM Speed join forces in Coronación demo district
Coronación Demo District in Vitoria Gasteiz is harnessing European resources to become more sustainable and to enhance citizens’ life quality. Two European projects SmartEnCity (GA 691883) and BIM Speed (GA 820553) are sharing two buildings from the demo district as case studies in two complementary approaches that may serve to fulfil both projects’ main objectives while providing the tenants with a higher comfort with cutting edge technologies applied in renovation.
